House Magazine annotation

This is a Dance/House music magazine and the colour scheme of this particular issue very much goes with the genre of music, it is quirky and upbeat with lots of different colours which is a good representation of House music. The main piece of text, rather than the obvious title, is the names "P Diddy & Felix" who are also pictured on the front of the magazine are obviously the main attraction and what the developers at 'mixmag' think will be the major selling point for them. The main title is in a different font to the cover lines, each edition of this magazine has the same font for the title 'mixmag'. The top right corner of these music magazines always have an advice section or ideas for young clubbers. There are plenty of other artist in this magazine as we can see underneath the 'plus' in  the bottom right corner, it is obvious to us that these artists are not as famous or as sellable to old customers and new customers. Middle left of the magazine there is a free mix CD which is also a way of attracting new customers and keeping old customers aswell.

We would usually associate P Diddy & Felix with RnB and Rap so maybe this is an attempt to step out and come into another genre. Underneath their names it says 'Can house save hip hop' this gives us the impression that hip hop is failing and they are using the new upcoming genre of music to save themselves. This magazine is a good way of showing when two music types come together, we have the RnB in P Diddy & Felix and they are fitting in quite naturally to the house style of magazine that this is.
